It's actually a fact that many foods taste awkward specially some of the vegetables. In this regard, it will depend of course upon the persons' taste buds.

It is a fact that vegetables are essential to the health. These foods are equipped with all the essential nutrients and vitamins that the body require. Vegetables also differ in sizes, shapes, textures as well as colors.

Although there are many good supplements which provide these essential vitamins and minerals, we know that nature tends to provide what we need in just the right amounts and combinations that our body can easily digest. Thus, we really need to teach our children to eat veggies. Question is, how do you get kids to eat vegetables?

A good approach is to prepare vegetables that are easy to eat and with sweet taste then eventually try to add bit and pieces of other vegetables on the meal. You can try putting sugar on your meal or add squash. To make it more palatable to children you can saute the vegetable on butter or garlic. Such vegetables as cauliflower and broccoli taste much better when seasoned and covered with various sauces. Saute as well as meals with sauce are the best way to conceal the bitter as well as other unpalatable tastes in vegetables..

Of course, a lot of us will also agree that other fruits taste better as they are or uncooked. There's probably a reason how these vegetables taste how they are. You can actually eat off the vegetable right off from its vine just like the tomato for example. In addition, you can also nibble on carrots right after picking from the garden since they are sweet and actually taste really great. However, this is not the case with regards to root crop veggies such as turnips and rutabagas.

Like potatoes and squash, these can be prepared with butter or other seasoning and taste is not bad.

Boiling vegetables is probably the worst way of making it edible. You retain most of the vitamins and minerals in the vegetables themselves, they taste more like their natural state, and are much easier to fix. You can also have a better taste if you prepare your vegetables Al Dente style or half cooked.

No matter how you put it, vegetables are still the best source of essential proteins, vitamins and minerals that the body. Kids don't always like vegetables due to their unlikely taste however if you can mask the taste with a taste that they love then you'll sure to feed them with any vegetable.
